Charles Andrew Veit, 77, died at 8:00 AM Friday, Sept. 23, 1966, in Lafayette Home Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday following an illness of several months. Born near New Albany, he spent most of his life in Lafayette. He was married to Esther Bridges Coppock on March 23, 1933.

Mr. Veit was a machinist at the Monon Shops, retiring in 1945. He was a 50-year member of F&AM 123, and the Machinists Union. Surviving with his widow is a son, James Veit of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Charles King of Forest Park, GA; his twin sister, Mrs. William (Rebecca) Haas of Lafayette; and three grandchildren.
