Kaplan – Funeral services for Beulah S. Sonnier, 97, of Kaplan, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. William C. Blanda will officiate at the services. She will be laid to rest in Kaplan Cemetery.

Born Feb. 15, 1905, Beulah S. Sonnier passed away at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 20, 2002, at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society.

Ms. Sonnier is survived by one son, Bernace “BJ” Landry and his wife, Rose of Lafayette; one step-daughter, Mrs. Elton (Mitzi) Doucet of Kaplan; 2 grandchildren, Dominique Landry of Lafayette; Nicolle and her husband, Lynn Campbell of Fort Worth, TX; 9 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Leonard Landry and Fernand Sonnier; her parents, Leoscar Simon and the former Edia Broussard; 4 sisters, Lula Simon; Nolia S. Boudreaux; Annie Mae S. Villemez; Olite S. Meaux.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given Mrs. Sonnier by Betty Marceaux, Wilma Adams and Shirley Schexneider.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that contributions be made to the charity of choice.

A rosary will be recited at noon today by the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. rosary and to continue from 8 a.m. today until time of the services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Doucet, Ned Doucet, Lucas Tate, Jonathan Tate, Michael Tate and Brian Bertrand.

Honorary pallbearers are Walter Vincent, Samuel Duplantis, Marvin Gahagan, Dr. Edward Villemez, Lynn Campbell and Dave Kindall.
