Garold Eugene (Gene) Long, 58,
Logansport, died last Wednesday
at Memorial Hospital, Logansport.
Born in Delphi, Feb. 15, 1918, he
was the son of John and Nola
Long. He was married June 11,
1942, to Elizabeth C. Berndt.
Long was employed for Essex
International for 35 years as a
buyer, was an Army veteran of
World War 11, served on the Draft
Board and was a past commander
of the American Legion.
Surviving with his wife are his
mother, Mrs. Nola Long, Delphi;
four sons, David, and Mark, both
of Logansport; Joel, Galesburg,
Ill.; and Dennis, Muncie; four
daughters, Miss Kathleen Long,
Indianapolis; Karen and Lisa, at
home; and Mrs. Christine Polei,
Rochester; five sisters, Mrs.
Agnes Reed and Mrs. Anna
Bussell, both of Delphi; Mrs.
Betty Boone and Mrs. Freida
Aveline, both of Lafayette; and
Mrs. Georgia Hill, Seattle,
Wash.; one brother, Huck,
Lawton, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Four brothers and three
sisters preceded him in death.
Services were last Friday at
the St. Joseph's Catholic Church,
Logansport, with Rev. Fred
Schroeder officiating. Burial was
in the Legion Circle in the Mt.
Hope Cemetery.
