The obituary of S. W. Cowles in the Edwardsville Intelligencer on September 18, 1889 states in part: "He has been a resident of this township for fifty seven years. In his early days he drove the stage and carried the mail long before a railroad was built. The result of his last marriage was six children, all of whom preceeded him to the grave."
There is no death date given in the Watt Cemetery records for Racheal. A small foot stone with R.M.C. marks her grave site.
