Debra Mary Lena (Barta) Beebe, age 64, of LaQuinta, California passed away at an Oceanside care facility in the early morning hours of October 18, 2014 with her husband Steve by her side. Debra had been fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Debra was born in Mountain Home, Idaho to Frank Joseph "Sam" and Johanna Marie "Jo" (Evers) Barta on April 11, 1950. Debra's father "Sam" worked for Morrison-Knudsen, so during her childhood she lived in Mountain Home, Arco, Lyle (Washington), Cambridge, Brownlee and Oxbow in Hells Canyon, Boise, and Camden (Alabama) as the family moved from one construction job to another. Debra graduated from High School in Camden and came back to Idaho to attend and graduate from Idaho State University. Debra also attended and graduated from the University of Idaho. After graduation Debra worked at Ernst & Young and then the J.R. Simplot Company.
In 1986, Debra married the love of her life, Stephen Beebe. Debra and Steve enjoyed their lives together for 28.5 years.
Debra and Steve enjoyed golfing and did some traveling to Europe. Debra enjoyed sewing and especially her cats that she loved like children. Her stories of traveling with the cats from to Idaho and back were very interesting.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and all but one of her aunts and uncles. Debra is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Beebe; a sister, Phyllis Minnesota; brothers, Charles (Pat) Barta and Willis (Norma) Barta; numerous nephews and nieces; an aunt, Darlene Evers; numerous cousins in Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska, Utah, Iowa, and Wisconsin. and several stepchildren.
Private services were held. According to Debra's wishes, she was cremated and her ashes will be spread at a future date in a Southern California area she enjoyed visiting. In remembrance of Debra please contribute to a Cancer .
