Born in Avilla, he lived in Fremont as a child, and had lived in the Huntertown area, since 1927. He was a World War II Army Veteran, and married Margaret H. Ryan, in 1941. He worked at General Electric and International Harvester, and had been a self-employed trucker. He retired from the Memorial Coliseum, Fort Wayne after 18 years, in 1976 and had been founder and president of Big "O" Trampolines. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Huntertown Volunteer Fire Department, and was a life member of Elmer Pond Chapter of the D.A.V., Fort Wayne. In his leisure time he enjoyed mowing lawns, making rosaries, and making peanut brittle.
He died as a result of an automobile accident.
