A. W. McKeel, Pioneer Kansas, Died Here Tuesday Night.

A. W. McKeel, 91, father of J. M. and W. D. McKeel, died at the home of J. M. McKeel Tuesday night, following a prolonged illness due to old age and infirmy.

A. W. McKeel was born in North Carolina in 1851, moving to Missouri after the Civil War. He moved from Missouri to Kansas in 1881 and had been a resident of Kansas ever since, for 61 years. He lived in Stafford, Kansas, about 25 years and came to Neodesha about six years ago to be with his two sons here.

W. D. McKeel left yesterday afternoon to take the body to Stafford where a short graveside funeral service will be held this morning at 10 o'clock.

Besides the two sons here, the deceased is survived by two other sons, S. N. McKeel of Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., and Loren McKeel of Larned, Kan., and two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Bogue, of Sycamore, and Mrs. Mary Brown, of Gravette, Ark., and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
