Sir William Spencer Kt, of Wormleighton & Althorp, Northants was the son of Sir John Spencer, Kt, of Snitterfield & Wormleighton and Isabel (Graunt). He married Susan, daughter of Sir Richard Knightley, of Fawsley, Northant. Susan was born before 1516. To this union six children were born; Sir John Spencer, Kt, of Wormleighton & Althorp, Isabel, Jane, Dorothy, Anne, and Mary. Monument at St Mary the Virgin, Great Brington.
Here lieth the bodies of Sir William Spencer, knight, and Dame Susan, his wife, daughter of Sir Richard Knightly of Fawsley in the county of Northampton, knight, and had issue by her Sir John Spencer, knight, their only son; Isabel, married to Sir John Cotton of Landwade in the county of Cambridge, knight; Jane, wife to Sir Richard Bruges of Shefford in the county of Berkshire, knight; Dorothy, married to Thomas Spencer of Everton in the county of Northampton, esquire; Anne, wife to Sir John Goodwin of Winchendon in the county of Buckingham, knight, which Anne died without issue; Mary, wife to Thomas Boles of Wallington in the county of Hertford, esquire. Which Sir William died the 22nd day of June, Anno Domini 1532
