Mrs. M.E. Pullen died at the family residence, 607 Brevity Street last Tuesday night after an illness of several weeks. She had been in ill health for many months, but bore her sufferings with great fortitude.
Her funeral was conducted at the city cemetery at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. W.J. Ballou officiating, and the following acting as pall-bearers: W.D. Dunaway, John Lane, J.N. Griffin, C.C. Varnedoe, R.A. Peeples, and W.C. Willis.
Mrs. Pullen was a sister Mrs. N.J. Brooks and was the mother of Mr. B.W. Pullen and Mrs. W.A. Strickland. She was a member of a the Baptist church and led a consistent Christian life. Her funeral was largely attended, and many floral offerings covered the casket as it was borne to its last resting place.
