Charles Odell, 86, of 105 Main St., Kingsbury, Ind. died Wednesday, April 30, 1997 at 7 a.m. at his home.

Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Haverstock Funeral Home. Burial was held in Kingsbury Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday where a memorial service was held by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 36, and from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association.

He was born August 18, 1910, in Casey, Ill., to Frank and Stella (Spencer) Odell, and had lived in Kingsbury for 50 years, moving from LaPorte.

Mr. Odell had retired as a self-employed carpenter after 45 years, was a charter member of Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Dept., and a member of IOOF Lodge 36.

He was married November 8, 1930, in Elkhart Kan., to Mary Ellen Goodwin, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Joyce Kessler of Aurora, Colo., and Kay Shannon of Indianapolis; one son, Donald of Cape Coral, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; two sisters, Hazel Vaught of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Gertie Addington of Elkhart, Kan., and two brothers, Russell of Hemet, Calif., and Doit of Casey.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Jr.; his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
