Evelyn (Gahimer) Crim Obituary
Evelyn Ruth (Gahimer) Crim , 80, of Manilla, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at her residence. She was born Feb. 18, 1932, in Rush County to Chester Denzil and Frieda Lavon (Edmondson) Gahimer. She married James William Crim on Oct. 14, 1951, and he preceded her in death March 18, 2002. Survivors include two sons, Steve (wife, Jill) Crim of Manilla and Tim (wife, Inga) Crim of Shelbyville; Two daughters, Debi (husband, Mark) Wahlman of Woodbridge, Calif., and Cindy (husband, George) Gladding of Manilla; sister, Edna Bell Hauger of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Vada Crim of Manilla; six grandchildren, Dena Ramsay, Kevin Crim, Christie Hewlett, Brian Crim, Nick Gladding and Melia Gladding; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Chester Frederick; and sister, Carol Hornung. Mrs. Crim was a lifetime resident of the area. She graduated from Manilla High School in 1950. She was a member of Morristown Christian Church and the Homemakers' Social Studies Club, Merry Mixers and "Fun Bunch Group." Mrs. Crim was a wonderful Christian woman. She was the best baker of chocolate chip cookies and among the best mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers. She was always thinking of others first. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road in Shelbyville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the funeral home with Brother Fred Hickman officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
