Funeral Services being Held Today For John Jess Holt

Funeral services for John Jessie Holt, 84, are being held today (Thursday in the Richfield Third ward chapel with Bishop O. J. Condie officiating. Mr. Holt died at his home In Richfield Monday morning of cause's incident to ago.
Mr. Holt was born in Ogden Oct 23, 1866, a son of Will A. and Sarah Ward Holt. His early youth was spent in southern Utah, near St. George and later the family moved to Wayne country.
He married Violetta May Bingham at Bicknell on May 22, 1890. Short after their marriage, the couple moved to Colorado where Mr. Holt worked in a lumber mill. Later he was employed as a section foreman for Southern Pacific Railroad Co. near Tucson, Ariz., for many years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In 1917 Mr. Holt had his family moved to Burrville where he was active as a farmer and livestock grazie. From Burrville the family moved to Salina, and in 1936 moved to Richfield.
Mrs. Holt died in 1946. Survivors include three daughter and one son, Mrs. Cloa May Fillmore, Mrs. Ellen Torgerson, Mrs. Velma Manwell and Norman J. Holt, all of Richfield; two brothers and one sister, Aaron Holt, Orem; Enoch Holt, Springville; Mrs. Sarah Ann Jacobs, Roosevelt; 15 grandchildren and 19 great - grandchildren.
