Kathleen "Kitty" Jo James, 98, of Newville, WV, passed away on April 11, 2023. Kitty was born on July 2, 1924, in Bergoo, WV, to parents James and Mary (Berry) Bright. The family moved to Newville when she was in grade school.
She was a Christian by faith and attended Newville Methodist Church. Kitty previously held the position as Secretary/Treasurer for the Newville Cemetery. She enjoyed sitting on the porch talking with family and friends. Kitty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished the time spent with her family.
Kitty is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Cody James.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David James (Linda); grandson, Adam James (Candace), grandson, Ryan James; great grandchildren, Shawver James, Saven James and Sailor James.
Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1 pm at Stockert Funeral Home & Cremation, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV. Pastor Tim Bleigh will officiate the service. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11 am -1 pm. Final resting place will be in the Newville Cemetery.
