Solomon moved to Champion, Jefferson Co., NY in 1803 where he located on the farm on Martin Street. He took up a 50 acre tract to which he added, by purchase. A highly respected resident, he served as assessor, highway commissioner and teacher as well as maintaining his farm. He was also a deacon in the First Baptist Church at Carthage in Jefferson Co., NY.
