Gus S. Graham, Jr. age 78 of Horsepen, VA died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. Born May 23, 1934 at Newhall, WV, he was a son of the late Gus S. Graham, Sr. and Cora Mae Myers Graham. Gus enjoyed the simple things in life that most people take for granted. He loved the outdoors, listening to the birds sing, and watching the squirrels play in the yard. He loved his porch and enjoyed sitting in his swing, Gus also enjoyed visiting with his friends and buddies on the creek. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
In addition to his parents,Gus S. Graham,Sr. and Cora Mae Myers Graham
he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Lou Marrs Graham;
one son, Marvin Wayne Graham;
one grandson, Michael Wayne Graham;
one brother, Cecil Graham;
one sister, Leora Asbury;
and son in law, Ralph Jerry Boothe.
He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Byrd and husband, Don of Wirtz, VA, Sharon Boothe of Dry Fork, VA, and Nancy Shrader and husband, Ronnie of Mundytown, VA;
daughter in law, Drema Graham of Tazewell, VA;
nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastors Arnold Marrs and Roney Marrs officiating. Burial will follow at Brewsterdale Cemetery at Brewsterdale, WV. Grandsons will service as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Monday, September 3, 2012.
