William Bowen was the oldest son of James Bowen and Mary Linn. He married Sarah Jane Shankland in Nicholas Co., Ky in 1852, just a year before they moved to Brown Co., IL. They were the parents of 6 children, 4 of whom lived to adulthood: James D., Edward Franklin, Alexander H., Amy Alta, Elmore S., and Everette Crosby. They are my maternal gg-grandparents.
"Cemeteries of Brown Co., IL" states that W.M. Bowen and wife Sarah J. are buried in two different cemeteries. I have personally been to the Buckhorn Cem. and know for a fact that they're buried there, NOT at the Linn Cemetery. This was an editing mistake at the time the book was compiled.
