Born April 12, 1932 at Eudora, he was a son of the late Van Childers and Ilar Puterbaugh Childers. He was a long-time member and deacon at Pleasant Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Childers was a machanic and retired from International Paper in 1995 after 36 years of service. He was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed fishing, history, genealogy, and coin collecting.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Stanley Childers and Danny Childers; a brother, Billy Childers; and a sister, Faye Childers.
