w/o John H. Alden m/o John D., Frank C., William B., Clyde, Elmer T. Alden & Laura G. Brown. d/o Charles Sweney & Rebecca Leinbach.

Belle married McDonough Co., ILL on the 17 Dec 1868 to John H. Alden and they farmed in Lee Twp, Fulton Co., IL Mother of six Children.

In 1912 she recieved a widow pension for her husband Civil War Service Co. L. ILL 12th Cavalry.

History: Belle was the niece of my Sarah Leinbach Hittle hence my interest in her and the Alden family. Her son John D. Alden leased the land owned by her aunt Sarah Hittle in Fulton Co., IL. I suspect since Belle was only fifteen when her mother died she lived with her aunt Sarah.
