Bertha Ellen Stone Hinds, age 94, passed away at her daughters home in Princeton, Texas on November 2, 2014 surrounded by those who loved her. Visitation for Bertha will be held Thursday November 6 from 5-8pm at Rhoton Funeral Home and a Graveside service will be held November 7th at 11am at Hilltop Memorial Park in Carrollton, Texas. Bertha married Will Hinds in 1937 and made their home in Farmers Branch, Texas in 1940. Bertha had broken her hip in 2008 and came to live with her daughter Daina of Princeton on Christmas Eve of that same year. Even though battling with the crippling disease of Alzheimer she still talked to God and prayed for both her children and grandchildren and never forgot her address or phone number of her home she grew to love. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie Jefferson and Annie Houston Stone, her husband Will Hinds, her adopted son David Hinds, sisters, Edith, Lora Mae, Betty, Mary, and Beula and her brothers Jr. and Oscar.Bertha is survived by her four children, daughters, Doris Plank of Tucson, Arizona, Jean Cheong and husband Yong of Warrenton, Oregon, son, Donald Hinds and wife Joyce of Nevada, Texas and her youngest daughter Daina Xavier and husband David of Prineton, Texas. 17 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren and 16 Great Great Grandchildren. Sister, Elaine Martin and husband Bill. And several nieces and Nephews.
