Alma "Evelyn" Marsh, 91, was born on March 25, 1923, in Stuart, Iowa.
Evelyn Rater married Richard F. Marsh November 9, 1943. They lived in Iowa, Colorado and moved to Oregon in 1978. She lived in the Salem area until 2004 when she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Deer Island.
She was a seamstress for over 30 years, owning her own business. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, gardening and playing cards.
Evelyn was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Victoria chapter #76, was a 2000-01 Cancer Research Committee member of The Grand Eastern Star of Oregon and also, was a member of The Daughters of the Nile, Nydia #4.
She is survived by her brother Ollie Rater; sister Lolly Wheeler; daughter, Gloria K. Connors and son-in-law, James P. Connors; son, Allen B. Marsh and daughter-in-law, Katherine L. Marsh; son, Norman R. Marsh and daughter-in-law Judith L. Marsh; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, Ollie and Alma Rater; two brothers; one sister; and her husband Richard F. Marsh.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11AM on May 16th at the Pearl Masonic Lodge, 5140 Chicago St. SE, Turner, Oregon. Graveside services will be held in Greene, Iowa.
