Billy Jack “Paw” Atkins, 76, of Townley, was born on Aug. 20, 1938, and went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends for visitation today, Nov. 6, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, and Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, from 1 until 2 p.m., at the Townley Church of God.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Townley Church of God. Brother Larry Trotter will officiate.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Townley.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ellie Atkins; brother, Carlton Atkins; and sisters, Pauline Atkins, Lorene Lawson and Jewel Blackmon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elva Jean Atkins; daughter, Debra Guthrie; sons, Greg Frost (Faye), Daryl Atkins (Jennifer), Billy Jack Atkins Jr., Joe Atkins, Lonnie Atkins and Kerry Atkins; grandchildren, Adam Frost (Cheryl), Laticia Frost (Michael), Cody Atkins (Clarissa), Dustin Atkins, Bret Atkins, Marc Niver (Malissa), Rusty Niver, Audrey Davidson (Shon), Chris Jacks (Stacy), Tyler Jacks, Jessi Anderson, Macey Kimbrell and Maddi Kimbrell; great-grandchildren, Zac Guthrie, Chloe Frost, Madison Frost, Aaliyah Frost, Jace Bridgeman, Kenslee Niver, Xander Jacks, Preston Ethinger and Ni'ko Cooper; sisters, Ruby Alexander, Bobbie Boshell, and Doris Justice (Robert); a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dr. Bruce Russell who has always been like family to Jack and Elva Jean, and the hospice nurses who helped so much throughout the final weeks, they truly are angels of the Lord.

Jack was a faithful member of the Townley Church of God for many, many years where he proudly served as Head Usher and greeted friends and visitors with his warm and caring smile. Jack loved the Lord and served Jesus faithfully, telling everyone he met of God's mercy and grace, of how God had blessed him through his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Adam Frost, Cody Atkins, Dustin Atkins, Bret Atkins, Tyler Jacks, Chris Jacks, Rusty Niver and Zac Guthrie
