Mrs. Pounds was a native and lifelong resident of Milledgeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon Ellis Pounds; parents, Thomas Carlton Collins and Ruby Lee Taylor Collins; sisters, Jessie C. Blount and Ruth C. Ferguson. She enjoyed working with ceramics. She served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Atlanta Temple for 3.5 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by daughters, Jan P. (Ed) Dominy, Sheela P Pounds, both of Milledgeville and Madelyn P. Chalker of Mitchell; sons, James H. Pounds and Kevin D. Pounds both of Milledgeville; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
