He was born Aug. 7, 1913, in Hughes Springs. On Sept. 22, 1940, he married Merle C. Adams in Longview.
Mr. Farrell, an area resident since 1969, was a drilling supevisor for Mobil Oil Co., where he was employed for 30 years. He was a member of Longview Church of Christ and in his retirement was very active in tree farming in Upshur County, winning numerous awards for his farms.
Mr. Farrell was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Merle Adams Farrell; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Wayne and Connie Farrell of Tomball and Bob and Debi Farrell of Longview; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Crim of Houston; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl "Bud" and Sandy Farrell of Houston; seven grandchildren, Tres Terry, Stefani Bess, John David Farrell, Jeremy Farrell, Julie Farrell, Rhett Farrell and Steven Farrell; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Farrell, Rhett Farrell, Tres Terry, Mike Crim, Jeff Bess and Carlton Wayne Adams.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, April 2, at the funeral home.
