Cleo "Sam" Bennett, 70, of 2111 10th St., Rock Island, died Wednesday at Franciscan Medical Center, Rock Island.
Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ, Rock Island.
Mr. Bennett was born July 25, 1920, in Missouri. He married Geraldine M. Bell.
He was employed as a machine operator with the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years, retiring in 1970.
Survivors include daughters, Jackie Gosney, Phoenix, Ariz., and Debbie Brown, East Moline; sons, Larry Bennett, Rock Island, Gary Bennett, in California, Randy Bennett, Moline, and Sam Bennett, Milan; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Elsie Harris, Rock Island; a sister, Donna Carel, Belleville, Ill.; and a brother, Burnal Bennett, Schertz, Texas.
