Lottie was born September 19, 1918 in DeWitt County, Texas to Lawrence and Maude Bingham. On August 20, 1934, she married Rudolph “Pete” Schutz in Waelder, Texas. She and Pete shared the joys of life together for over 58 years until his passing in 1993.She worked for years as a teacher, ministerial secretary and a retirement home manager in West Liberty, Iowa, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and was involved in Women’s Christian Temperance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; a daughter, Gayle Victoria Schutz Smith; a son, Melvin Louis Haertner; and a great-grandson Roy Victor Taylor. She is survived by a son, Richard Tex Schutz and wife Mary of Streetman, Texas; two daughters, Lavon Schlung and husband Victor of Georgetown, Texas and Mildred Turner and husband Hilton of Early, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
