Mrs. Cockrum died at 3:37 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born August 31, 1929, in Howell County, Missouri, to Walter and Hazel Williams McGoldrick. She graduated from Bakersfield High School and on September 29, 1949, was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to James A. Cockrum, who preceded her in death September 15, 1980. Mrs. Cockrum was employed with International Shoe Company for over thirty years. She also worked at Baxter Lab and was a rural route mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Mrs. Cockrum was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Gospel Hill Church of Christ for many years.
She is survived by one son, Leon Cockrum, wife, Ruth Ann, Pottersville, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Sheila Cockrum, Pottersville, Missouri; four grandchildren, David A. Cockrum and family, Pottersville, Missouri, Jamie Cockrum and family, Springfield, Missouri, Leigh Ann Cockrum and family, Dora, Missouri and Courtney Lewis and family, Clarkridge, Arkansas; one sister, Hazel M. Wakeland, Moline, Illinois; special friend, Juanita Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, David Lee Cockrum, one brother, Sammy McGoldrick and one sister, Helen McAninch, precede her in death.
Mrs. Cockrum will lie in state from 5:00 p.m., Thursday until 9:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
