Virgil O. Wright Jr., 80, passed among family members on Oct. 9, 2008, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Virgil was born on Aug. 11, 1928, in Great Falls, where he was raised. After graduating from high school, Virgil enlisted in the Navy. He was an instructor in the electronics division. After his time in the service he was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as a brakeman for 32 years.

His hobbies were photography and anything with guns; reloading and target shooting. After Virgil's retirement from the railroad, he continued with his photography - developing, printing and enlarging his pictures, which were very professional.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Alvina Wright; his brother-in-law, Frank Wraught; his first wife, Dona Ditton Wright; and step-sons Ronald and Curtis Hanson.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Beverley; sister Viola Wraught of Great Falls; daughter Judy Thompson; son, Casey; two step-sons, David and Butch; ex-son-in-law Alan Thompson; grandsons Brian and Victor Thompson of Soldotna, Alaska; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Hanson and children Levi and Ashley Halle, Cayla, and Jenna-Rose Hanson; and step-son Marvin Hanson and wife Marilyn; 12 brothers and sisters-in-law and their families; many nieces, nephews and cousins (about 350).

Dad and Grandpa Virgil will truly be missed. No good-byes - It's we will see you again. Virgil, please give Ron and Curt a hug for us.

Services were held at the Columbia Falls Mortuary on Oct. 14. Internment took place in Great Falls on Oct. 15.
