Served in Germany in WWII. Served in Korean War. Met his future wife in Germany near French border. Had to re-enlist to see her again. Married her and came home, was sent back out because of reserve status and she managed to survive by working. Her town was a small town with vineyards, Baltimore seemed crowded to her.
