Peoria, IL - Beverly J. Binkele, 76, of Peoria passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, in the emergency room of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1937, in Lexington, Ill., daughter to the late Clyde and Olga Fleisher Sherman. She married Orval Maupin in Corinth, Miss., on Dec. 11, 1954. She later married Dale N. Ellis in Morton on Dec. 31, 1958. She then married Henry Binkele on July 23, 1967, in Peoria, Ill.

Surviving are two sons, Gregory A. (Judy) Ellis of Vancouver, Wash., and Jeffrey D. Ellis of Leander, Texas; and two stepdaughters, Evelyn (David) Bibula of LaSalle, Ill., and Janet (Patrick) Swank of Oglesby, Ill. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Lindsay Ellis and Courtney Ellis, both of Vancouver, Wash.; two step granddaughters, Jamie Little of Oglesby and Lesley Meyer of LaSalle; and four step grandsons, Paul of LaSalle, Jeremy of Winder, Ga., and Steven and Gary of Oglesby. Thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Allen L. (Lorena) Sherman of Cedaredge, Colo., further survive her.

One stepson, Walter W. "Buzzy" Binkele, and one step granddaughter, Nikki Gorisek, preceded her in death.

Beverly worked in the insurance industry since 1955, first as a clerk at the office of Industrial Casualty Insurance Company in Bloomington, Ill. She was a CSR in the office of David J. Carroll, and then went on to become an agent and worked in several agencies in Peoria. Her last position was as an in-house claims adjuster at the Hecht-Stout Insurance Agency in Peoria.

She was the past executive director of the Peoria Association of Independent Insurance Agents for 28 years and was active in the Peoria Association of Insurance Women and the ABWA. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled.
