Jansky, Robert W. 75 years old, of Lindenhurst, IL, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, as result of injuries received in an auto accident. He was born June 25, 1935 in Cicero, IL the son of the late Edward and Martha (Denser) Jansky. Robert grew up in Venetian Village on Sand Lake, and has remained a life-long area resident. He was a truck driver for Verako Industries, Gurnee, IL and retired member of the Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 301. He retired as a mechanic for Althoff Industries, McHenry, IL in 1998. Robert loved being outdoors, and during his retirement, he worked for the Antioch Country Club grounds crew. He enjoyed fixing outdoor machinery like snow blowers and lawn mowers. Robert had a love for cars, especially Buicks and Pontiacs, and was an avid NASCAR fan; his cars were always spotless. On August 20, 1960 he married Janet Bunkelman in Waukegan, IL. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janet; two children, Wendy (Robert) Jurgensen of SC and Sandy (Kenyon) Bemis of Antioch; a step-son Bruce Ward of LaCrosse, WI; five grandchildren, Casey Bemis, and Christopher, Sarah, Lauren, and Joshua Jurgensen; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Jansky, Dorothy Faith, and Kenneth Jansky. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Gurnee Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be held at 10AM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL.
