Bernice grew up in the Northwood area. She attended school at Deer Creek #3. She then continued her education at St. Olaf.
Bernice spent most of her life as a homemaker, but she also worked at Iowa State Employment in Mason City, Iowa for a few years.
On June 17, 1961, Bernice was united in marriage to Clarence “Bud” Weiland at Deer Creek Valley Church in Northwood, Iowa. Together they were blessed with a son, Brian.
Bernice was an active and faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. She was involved with many organizations within the church such as the Quilters, and the funeral committee. She served as the custodian at the church for a number years with Bud. Bernice also volunteered for the Headstart program.
In her spare time, Bernice enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, baking, and writing letters. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Bernice will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Brian (Kris) Weiland of Johnston, Iowa; sister, Marilyn Ringleb of Waverly, Iowa; sister-in-law, Becky Logemann of Carpenter, Iowa; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Kenny Logemann.
