Mr. Burd was well known in Decatur as he lived here until five years ago when he went to Marion. Mr. Burd was working in the mine at the time and slipped and fell in front of one of the big motor cars which was carrying coal.
Mr. Burd is survived by a wife and two children. He also leaves his father. E.C. Burd, of this city. The funeral services were in charge of the miners union at Marion.
