Imelda "Millie" Kluesner, 75, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Farley, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, in the care center following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, All Saints Catholic Church, by the Rev. James Blocklinger. Graveside services and burial: 2 p.m. Monday, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Dyersville. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, where a rosary begins at 5 p.m.

Survivors include two sons, James F. and wife Candy of Harrisonburg, Va., and Dean J. and wife Christy of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Susan Wold and husband Mark of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Stephanie, David and Joseph Kluesner and Drew and Amy Wold; a stepgrandchild, Lauren Tucker and husband Brett; two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Winter Tucker; a brother, Delbert Connolly of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.

Millie was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Pleasant Grove, Iowa, to James and Agnes Anthoine Connolly. She graduated from St. Joseph's School in Farley and attended Clarke College in Dubuque. She married Francis "Frank" Kluesner on June 18, 1946, in Farley. He died March 21, 1977. Millie taught private piano lessons in her home for many years in Wyoming, Iowa, and Cedar Rapids. She retired from the Cedar Rapids School District, where she worked as a para-professional and secretary. After retirement she volunteered many hours at the Science Station and other area agencies. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and a former member of Catholic Daughters of America.

Millie will be remembered as a wonderful mother and friend and will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Mercy or the Frank Kluesner Music Scholarship Fund at Kennedy High School.
