Mary Ann is survived by four children, Sheryl and George Hampton of Greenwood, Vanessa Owens of Fort Smith, Joe A. Owens of Greenwood, and Doug and Lisa Owens of Scranton; six grandchildren, Angela Nevel, Alecia Nelms, Addy Kay Hampton, Jeff Davis, Jacob Owens and Becca Owens; five great-grandsons; three brothers, Guss Buss of Mercy Crest in Barling, Ray and Pat Buss of North Little Rock and Gene and Sonia Buss of Arlington, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Always known for having an open door, Mary Ann opened her home to family and friends for all holidays. She will be remembered for her great cooking, especially her dressing at Thanksgiving, Christmas and at Easter. She was always busy, even after retirement. She built her third home, loved gardening, was especially proud of her manicured lawn and colorful flower beds, cleaned and cooked for several priests at St. Ignatius Church, where she especially enjoyed washing and ironing the church linens. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Ignatius Church in Scranton.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius Church followed by a committal service at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
