Walhonding – Charlene V. Beckley, 76, passed away on Sunday September 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born in Coshocton County on June 6, 1938 to Charles and Faun (Cochran) Mosholder. She dearly loved her family, and spent many hours camping with whoever wanted to come, swimming, boating, baking cookies with the grandchildren, and was an avid card player, but loved playing games of all kinds. Much of her time since retirement was spent crocheting, sewing, playing piano, and spending the winters in Winter Haven, FL. She served as secretary for the Lake and Golf Estates, where she was the pianist for the chorus.

Charlene was very active in the Mount Vernon community as she was in charge of First Knox National Bank Public Relations. She was a member of the Downtown Merchants Association, of which she was secretary for many years. She was one of the members who started the “Christmas Walk”. She was also a member of the International Management Association, President of the National Association of Bank Women Central Ohio Group, a member of the Ohio Bankers Association Board, serving a 3 year term, Secretary of the 4-H Board for several years, and directed the financial section of the Knox County Jr. Fair Livestock Auction, and was secretary of the Arthritis Foundation Board in Mount Vernon, having started, and instructed, their Aquatics program. When she retired after 32 years from First Knox Bank, many commented that they missed her laughter and jokes.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Beckley, two children; Deborah Lang of New Concord, and Douglas (Donna) Beckley of Walhonding, four grandchildren; Cameron Lang (Kim Smith), Bethany (Brad) Dudley, Ashley (Timothy) Clutter, and Nicholas (Meagan) Beckley, five great grandchildren; Dalton and Kobe Dudley, Emma and Sarah Clutter, Carly Beckley, and Ethan and Elliott Morgan, a sister, Donna Barcus of Florida, two sisters-in-law; Betty Shade of Cambridge, and Joyce Mosholder of Rogers, 11 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers; Robert, Vaughn, and Lawrence Mosholder, and a son-in-law, Larry Lang.

Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Rd., Mount Vernon, 43050, and at hospiceofknox.org.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Ben McKinstry and Victor Slutz will officiate. Burial will follow in Woods Church Cemetery on Woods Church Rd. in Butler Twp. Calling hours will be from 5-8 on Wednesday evening. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
