William Jasper Bennett was born to Micajah Bennett and Margaret McColister in Tennessee on April 15, 1832, but relocating the family to Kentucky before 1850.
William married Alsey Adeline Jackson on Oct 3, 1855 in Hickman County, Kentucky, but lost her just two years later on Oct 25, 1857. Alsey had given birth to two sons, Thomas William on July 29, 1856 (and he died on Oct 4, 1933) and Joseph on Sep 24, 1857 (and he died in 1871). Then loosing her life just 31 days later.
Then William Jasper married Alsey's younger sister, Mary Maranam Jackson on Aug 19, 1858 in Clinton, Kentucky. Mary gave birth to 11 children, 6 daughters and 5 sons. Besides the nine children listed below, they also had a son named Robert H who was born on Jan 19, 1868 and who died on July 28, 1892; and a daughter named Georgean, called Annie, born on Oct 23, 1877 and died May 11, 1915.
By 1870, William and Mary had relocated to Patton, Missouri and lived out the remainder of their lives in areas of Bollinger County, Missouri.
