Funeral for Bernice Randolph Sargent, 79, of Nacogdoches will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Bernice passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, in Lufkin. Bernice was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Nacogdoches to the late George Washington Randolph and Lessie Barnhart. She grew up in Nacogdoches where she attended school. Bernice was very devoted to her family as a stay-at-home mom, she was able to spend time with her loving husband, Henry Ray Sargent Sr., and her family. Bernice loved to take care of her four-legged pets, "Joey," "Romeo" and "Bear." She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling with her husband and family, and she loved singing and listening to gospel music, quartet and duets. Bernice is survived by her husband, Henry Ray Sargent Sr.; son, Henry Ray Sargent Jr. and wife, Susie, of Etoile; daughters, Wanda Joyce Tucker of Nacogdoches, Julie Ann Fanning of Nacogdoches, Neica Rena and husband, Freddy, of Garland; sister, Lucille Martin of Nacogdoches; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Linda Dale Dumas and Brenda Gail Duhan; brothers, Louie Randolph, Calvin Randolph, Earnest Randolph and Bill Randolph; sisters, Thelma, Myrte, and Flossie; and granddaughter, August Gail Windham.
