Cole Commits Suicide With Revolver Bullet At Glendale Residence – His health shattered as a result of shell shock suffered during the World War, Ben O. Cole, 47, of 430 Pioneer, ended his life last night by firing a bullet from a revolver into his brain.

He was a brother of Dr. Clifford A. Cole, pastor of the Central Christian Church. His Mother, three brothers and two sisters reside in Glendale.

The shooting took place in the rear yard near the garage in which the weapon used had been kept. The sound of the shot attracted a brother, Lawrence Cole, who resided at the same address and who found the body.

Cole was a native of Wichita, KS. He had lived in Glendale fourteen years and was a painter. He was not married.

During the World War he served with the 33rd Infantry, Ninety-First Division, in France and was a messenger at regimental headquarters.

He is survived by his Mother, Mrs. Emily L. Cole, 430 Pioneer; three brothers, Dr. Clifford A. Cole, 431 North Howard; Lawrence Cole, 430 Pioneer, and Forrest Cole, 1240 Juaton, and by two sisters, Mrs. F. A. Williamson, 212 West Laurel, and Mrs. John H. Faries, 1339 Carmen.

No inquest will be held. The body is at the L. G. Scovern Co. mortuary. Interment will be at Forest Lawn. Time of the funeral had not been set.
