Samuel C. Girton, 85, of Indio, Calif. passed away October 25, 2010 in Indio, Calif. He was born March 2, 1925, to Clarence and Ruth Girton in Abilene, Kansas.

He married Etta Mae [Grisham] Girton on October 18, 1947 in Tulare, Calif. He was a business owner and mechanic of Sam's Auto Service for twenty-five years.

He is survived by his wife Etta Mae Girton; daughters, Linda C. Barton, Yuba City, Calif.; Nancee M. Simpson, Calimesa, Calif.; Cindy L. Tucker, Indio, Calif.; Margaret D. Rembold, Anza, Calif.; Michele L. Keeran, Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; and Sandra A. Evers of Indio, Calif.; sisters, Rachel Thayer, Upland, Calif.; Martha Banks, Havasu City, Ariz.; and Chloe Bryant, Tulare, Calif.; brothers, Pete Girton, Tulare, Calif.; Omar Girton, Fresno, Calif.. 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Private services were held at Forest Lawn Mortuary, Indio, Calif., with interment at Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella, Calif. Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries.
