Melvin "Bud" E. Palmer, 92, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Bethel Manor. He was born June 6, 1922, in Star, ID, to the late Charles Newton and Lela Ruth (Taylor) Palmer.
He served in the US Army in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII and retired from Duff Trucking after 32 years. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 215 and a previous member of VFW Post #1114.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife in 1998, Macel Pauline Palmer; parents; brothers, Charles A. Palmer, Jewel Wilson Palmer, and Donald Palmer.
He is survived by his sons, William "Bill" (Shirley) Palmer and James Wilson (Wanda) Palmer of St. George, UT; sisters, Velma Johnson of Boise, ID, Jeannine Johnson [Lloyd] of Tucson, AZ, and Carmen Steffens of White Salmon, WA; grandchildren, Greg (Andrea Staub) Palmer of Evansville and Jeffrey Palmer of St. George, UT; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 3, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Delbert Bryant, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
