JAMES H. MAGEE, 85, of Wayland Trail, a millwright for the former Sayles Finishing Co., the former Owens Corning Fiberglas Co., Conveyors Inc. of Pawtucket for 15 years, and the Frank E. Clynes Co. of Smithfield for 10 years retiring in 1978, died Wednesday at Rhode Island Hospital.
He was the husband of Marion (Brown) Magee.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph D. and Sarah (Wilson) Magee, he lived in Central Falls for most of his life before moving to Narragansett five years ago.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was past commander, past chaplain, and 50-year member of the James Stanton Post 5, American Legion, Central Falls. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Cumberland, and a charter member of the Mettatuxett Improvement Association, and the Yacht Club in Narragansett.
During the 1960s he was a Central Falls councilman for eight years.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, two sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was father of the late Kenneth James Magee.
