After a long illness, Mrs. J.B. Schriber passed away in Calgary, Saturday, where she had been for several weeks for medical treatment.

Mrs. Schriber was born in Darby, Penn., 66 years ago and in 1918 came from Emporia, Kansas to Gleichen with her husband and family to take up farming north of town, where she had resided ever since.

Funeral services were conducted in Calgary, Tuesday afternoon with Rev. V.M. Gilbert, formerly minister of the United Church here, officiating. Interment being made in Burnsland cemetery.

Surviving are husband, Joseph; one daughter, Mrs. Harold Sheets; one son, Joseph, all of Gleichen, and three grandchildren.

Ethel is the daughter of Quakers, Edward Roberts Heacock and Elizabeth Pratt Lewis. On 28 Mar 1906 in Lyon County, Kansas, USA she married Joseph Bailey Schriber, son of Joseph & Sarah Schriber. They two children: Florence Edna (Schriber) Sheets and Joseph Edward Schriber. The family moved to Alberta on 22 Mar 1918 to join Ethel's brother, Albert Henry "Bert" Heacock in Gleichen, who had come earlier — about 1910.
