Cabello, Abel Eliezer 50, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Abel lived in Minneapolis with his partner Jim Hector for many years. He was a star at Gabbert's Furniture and Crate & Barrel, knew how to throw a great party, and was a true and loving friend to many. He is survived by his Mother and Father, Estella and James Cabello; sisters, Reina and Patricia; and brother, Edward; nieces and nephews; oodles of friends; and his dog Bella. A memorial service is being planned in Texas for a future date as a celebration of his life. Abel and Jim were big supporters of the Aliveness Project in Minneapolis and he asked that in lieu of cards or flowers, donations be made to them. Rest in peace friend.

Abel was working at one of the Texas Gabbert's stores when a group of Edina Gabbert's associates traveled to visit the Texas facilities. As I heard, it was one of those "love at first sight" occurrences. Abel actually returned with Jim to Minnesota with the group, later moving his household goods here. Both worked at Gabbert's for a time, but Jim went to work for Dayton's as they had better health insurance which was needed because of his HIV status. The fact both were positive likely helped cement their relationship.

After Jim's passing Abel returned to Texas. KG
