Don was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Oxford, Iowa, to Elmer Joseph and Wilma Harney Hanson. Donald attended college at St. Ambrose and the University of Iowa. He married Carol Hanson June 13, 1956, in Holbrook, Iowa. They were later divorced. He then married Patricia Hanson Oct. 20, 1990, in Kansas City, Kan. Don was a production control manager at Rockwell Collins for 31 years, retiring in 1991.
Don loved spending time with family. He also enjoyed many sports, especially golf and football. He was a big Dallas Cowboys and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
