Longtime Rush Springs resident, Betty Jo Hoard, 73, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Chickasha.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Betty was born Wednesday, April 16, 1941 in Victoria, Texas, to John Edward and Oleta (Kerr) Beckman. She grew up in Texas and lived most of her adult life in the Rush Springs area. On September 12, 1983, she married Thomas Ed Hoard, Sr. in Lawton. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2008. Betty was a full-time homemaker and loved children, she especially loved taking care of her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing Skip Bo, dominoes, spades, and dancing. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rush Springs.

Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert "Bobby" Beckman, and a great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Fulton, Karl Scruggs, Greg Scruggs, Greg Loyd, Tom Walters, T.J. Reynolds.
