Donald Eugene Mosbarger, age 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning, October 26, 2014 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.

He was born in Waverly, Ohio March 13, 1928, to the late Ollie and Ota (Humble) Mosbarger. Don was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and George Mosbarger; five sisters, Irene Bailey, Dorothy Cox, Margaret Mosbarger, Hazel White, Martha Harmen; and a step son, Gordon Moist.

Don married the former Marcia Ann Moist September 30, 1955 in Bellefontaine and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Bruce Rice of Spencerville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Karissa (Jake) Bowling of Bellefontaine; great-grandchildren, Kira and JD Bowling; brothers, Howard (Eileen) Mosbarger of Urbana, Ohio and David (Diane) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine; a sister, Garnet (Fred) Roesel of Lafayette, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and he was grandpa to Amanda, Doug, and Nick Moist and great-grandpa to Addison, Makenzie, and Stagger.

A 1946 graduate of Urbana High School, Don was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Don returned to Logan County and went to work at H.G. Short from 1953 – 1960, and later worked at MacGillivray Motors until 1979 and then at A&I Supply from 1979-1993. Don was a member of the Logan County Friendly Senior Center and a charter member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.

Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. Pastor Daniel McCarty will officiate the funeral service Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.

Interment will follow the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran's Honor Guard
