Evelyn F. Bradford, 89, of Genoa, Ill., and The Grand Victorian in Sycamore and DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in DeKalb, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.

Born March 2, 1918, in Grand Island, Neb., she was the daughter of Robert and Lillian (Meyers) Pegg. She married Clyde William Bradford on June 1, 1938, in Grand Island. Together in 1988 they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Evelyn formerly worked for Oster Manufacturing Co. and later retired after nearly 20 years as secretary for First Methodist Church, now known as Faith United Methodist Church, in Genoa. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, a member of PEO, a supporter of the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Museum and a former member of the Genoa Senior Citizen Group.

She is survived by a son, Gene (Barb) Bradford of Genoa; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Barry) Cronin of Aurora; three grandchildren, Cherie (Rich) Kraft of Hanover Park, Kris (Ken) Lacerda of Chicago and Lindy (Matt) Lipke of Hampshire; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Elliot Kraft; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1990; and two brothers, James Meyers and Robert Pegg.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, at Faith United Methodist Church, 325 S. Stott St., with the Rev. Daniel Diss officiating.
Interment will be at Genoa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home in Genoa.

A memorial fund is established for Faith United Methodist Church in care of Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, P.O. Box 251, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL 60135.
