Norman Clinton Bays, 95, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away October 5, 2014, in Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.
He was born July 26, 1919, in Burnside, WV, a son of the late, Sherman Henry and Lura (Guthrie) Bays. His first wife, Dorothy Bays, second wife, Mary Wavoline (Smith) Bays, and four sisters also preceded him in death.
He was a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was a World War II United States Army veteran. He was a retired millwright from Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union, Local #5669, the VFW, the American Legion, and the Ravenswood Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed doing mechanic work on cars.
Survivors include sons; Ben Sherman (Sue) Bays of Huntington, and Norman Curtis (Mary) Bays of Chesapeake, OH; daughters, Brenda Donohew of Huntington, and Barbara (Ret. Col. Joel) Littman of Belleville, IL; stepchildren, Brady Fry, Jr. (Sandra) of New Castle, PA, Dianna Jean (Myron) King and Sherri Lynn Miller all of Evans, Rosetta Ann (Edwin) Ferguson of Huntington, Tonda (John) Danko of Summersville, of Carroll, OH, Denver David (Kimberly) Fry, and Crystal Dawn (Jeff Williams) Person all of Ravenswood; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of service at the funeral home. Committal service with military honors will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
