Adolfo R. Montemayor, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas where he lived for most of his life. He was born on September 25, 1927 in Pleasanton, Texas, to Carlos and Dominga Montemayor. A. R. was raised in San Diego, Texas and he was the oldest of his siblings. He attended San Diego High school. A. R. proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was an accomplished chemist. He loved to watch sports, especially the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys and he adored the ocean. His favorite past times were traveling with his wife, watching the Discovery and Animal Planet channels, and having an ice cold beer.

A. R. was preceded in death by his wife, Ofelia Montemayor; both parents; and his sister, Margarita M. Vela.

He is survived by his two children, Gary Montemayor (Laura), Belinda M. Arford (Chris); stepchildren, Mike De La Cruz, Richard De La Cruz, Cathy De La Cruz; granddaughters, Natalie A. Martin, Katie Arford; brothers, Ruben Montemayor (Jeannette), Carlos Montemayor (Maria Herminia), Geronimo Montemayor (Sherry); sisters, Zenaida Montemayor, Irma Montemayor (Arturo); and numerous nephews and nieces.

Entombment to follow mass at Seaside Memorial Park.
