Funeral for G.L. Alexander, 84, Watonga, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at the Methodist Church in Watonga. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Watonga. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary, Watonga.

Garold Lee "G.L." Alexander was born April 23, 1930 at Thomas, Oklahoma to Walter D. and Faye Ella Halle Alexander and passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the age of 84.

He was a resident of the Watonga community most of his life. G.L. grew up in Thomas, Oklahoma graduating from Thomas High School in 1948. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy and received his Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1952. After college graduation, G.L. was drafted in the United States Army where he served for two years in Germany and France during the Korean Conflict. During his tour he worked in a hospital pharmacy in France. Upon his discharge in 1954 he returned home and married Leona Wood at the Methodist Church in Weatherford on July 8, 1954. During his many years as a pharmacist G.L. owned and operated Thomas Drug in Thomas, Oklahoma for 12 years, and then became the owner of City Pharmacy for 21 years. G.L. loved his work as a pharmacist and continued to work part time at Kidd Drug in Fairview, Oklahoma until his death.

G.L. became a Christian and gave his life to Christ in 1956. He was a member of the First United Methodist church in Watonga, the Experimental Aircraft Association, a former member of the Watonga Hospital Board, the Two Cylinder Tractor Club of Fairview, Oklahoma and a member of the American Pharmacy Association. He loved to restore antique tractors and loved to travel to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the "Fly In" and to Florida to visit his daughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bob and Wallace Dale. He is survived by his wife Leona of the home in Watonga, OK. Three sons Geoff Alexander and wife Peggy of Owasso, OK. Mitchell Alexander and wife Faye of Norman, OK. Marshall Alexander and wife Donna of Okc, OK. One daughter Diahann Kramer and husband Kerry of Ormond Beach, Fl. Nine grandchildren Gina Luginbill, Kylie Parrish, Kelsey Grounds, Sean Kramer, Brett Kramer, Michela Brooks, Kaitlynn Alexander, Maria Alexander and Matthew Alexander. Two great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for G.L. Alexander will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Watonga with Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Watonga First United Methodist Church.
